09-06-06: Wedding Bells !!

Congratulations to Keri Church (Solo Horn) and Graham Smyth (Flugel Horn) on their recent engagement !!

20-05-06 : Solo Champion

Congratulations to Keith Anderson, Principal Eb Bass, on being crowned Northern Ireland Brass Band League Solo Champion for 2006.

13-05-06 : Senior Trophy

Following a dissapointing result last year, the band made a return to Blackpool's Winter Gardens to compete in the Senior Trophy playing The Essence of Time by Peter Graham.

Come result time and after an excellent performance, the band were delighted to learn that they had been placed 8th out of the 20 band line-up.

12-05-06 : Laganvale on BBC Radio 2's Listen to the Band

A live performance of A Prelude on Talis by Peter Graham has been featured on BBC Radio 2's Listen to the Band. The performance was taken from the band's own choice programme at the recent European Championships.

29-04-06 : European Competition - B Section

The Laganvale (Metal Technology) Band prouudly represented Northern Ireland in the B Section of the European Brass Band Championships.

The band finished up in 3rd place behind Torshavn Brass Band – Faroe Islands and the eventual runaway winners Oberoesterreich Brass Band – Austria.

27-04-06 : European Composers Competition - Results

Congratulations once more to Gareth Downey who managed to pick up both the Performers and Audience prizes for his composition - Sinonietta.

28-03-06 : European Composers Competition

Congratulations to Gareth Downey who has reached the final of the 2006 European

Composer Competition. Gareth will be joined in the final by Joel Engström, Sweden

and Kevin Houben, Belgium. All three finalists will have their compositions performed

and judged during the European Brass Band Championships in Belfast.
