NIBA Champions again!!!! Congratulations to the Band for winning the 2009 NIBA Championships yesterday with a very musical performance of Life Divine. And congratulations to Clive McBride, our 1st trombone player, who received the Best Instrumentalist award. Finally, well done to all the other section winners. Been a while since an update but over the past few months have had a couple of new players join the band, Robert Davidson on baritone, and Damian White on 3rd cornet (after a 25 year or so time out!). They are most welcome to the band, and note we are still looking for players despite what you might see on the stage or at gigs (not too many gigs done by any band nowadays with only their own players!)

Congratulations to the Band who came an excellent 4th place in the Spring Festival Senior Trophy contest on Saturday, held in Blackpool (full results at 4barsrest here). The band had another excellent rendition of "Spectrum" which the judges liked enough to put us 4th. So we now move back to the Senior Cup for 2010. Look out British Open, here we come J !!!!

Congratulations to the Band who came 2nd in the BBL contest on Saturday. They had an excellent "blow" and sets the band up nicely for the Blackpool contest in May. Mark Ruddock (Sop) won the soloist prize. The winners of the Championship section were 1st Old Boys so congratulations to them. Full results for the day, including other sections, are available here.

Congratulations to the Band for their recent win in the Valley Hotel Entertainments Contest in Fivemiletown recently. The band won the championship section on a 2 point lead, with 1st Old Boys band coming 2nd. Also congratulations to Dessie Neil for winning the soloist prize, with a superb performance of Quiet Time. Finally, the March prize was won by 1st Old Boys band. The full result of all sections is available here.

The BBL A solos were held recently and the A section was won by Brian Connolly, with Dessie Neil in 2nd place and Boris Pinto in 3rd place. Well done to Brian, and to all the other winners on the day. Full results here.
