Laganvale (Metal Technology) Band

My introduction to brass bands and brass instruments began in Laganvale at the youthful age of 10. I initially received tutoring from Norman Englsh in the Laganvale learners class closely followed with a move up into the Junior band.

I moved into Laganvale senior band a couple of years later, that was around 1976.

I began my playing career in the senior band on number two 3rd cornet and over the next 10 years or so progressed through the cornet ranks to number two solo cornet. The next years saw moves to solo then first horn, first baritone, solo euphonium and currently number two euphonium.

I have now been playing with Laganvale without break for a period of 34 years and am therefore one of a very small number of 'old hands' left in the band.
