Ó Laganvale (Metal Technology) Band
I started playing Tenor Horn with 34th Boy's Brigade Band in 1959 under the tutelage of Jack Crossan.
I then joined Ormeau Military Band in 1961 playing cornet (under conductor Windsor Hylands).
Next I moved to Agnes Street Band in 1963 (conductors Ernest Ruddock Snr, Denis Wilby, Ernest Ruddock Jnr) playing soprano cornet for six years and then flugel horn for a further four years, until I left the band in 1973.
Outside of banding I became involved in other hobbies:
- Played soccer for Banbridge Town F.C. 1974-1976
- Coached Queens University Football Club 1977 -1987
- Captain of Dunmurry Golf Club 2001
I started playing again 2002 after a gap of 29 years ! (STILL NO BETTER!!) when I joined Wellington Band.
Fianlly, I moved to Laganvale Metal Technology Band in 2003 (conductor Ernest Ruddock Jnr), and at present I am playing 2nd Cornet.
